This paper synthesizes the geoenvironmental criteria belonging to a programme of integrated studies whose results allowed to diagnose and to define firstly the installation of civil works destinated to basic sanitation and secondly the recuperation of sewage net and waste stations in urban rivers from Río Claro city (S.P.). According to the same criteria, this programme also permitted the selection of sites for the installation of sanitary tanks, industries and nuclear wastes in Bauru, Piracicaba and Itu cities (Sá o Paulo State), respectively. The methodology allowed to confirm that the fragility of the physical environment needs a political conscience to carry on these works, in order to avoid criminal catastrophes and excessive risks (AU). / SAO PAULO |
