Autor: Franco Gil, Carlos Arturo.

Tema(s):
Resumen: In: Hermelín A., Michel, ed. Memorias. Medellín, Antioquia. Universidad EAFIT, Jul. 1992. v.1. v.1. Presentado en: Simposio Latinoamericano de Riesgo Geológico Urbano, 2; Conferencia Colombiana de Geología Ambiental, 2; Pereira, 15-18 jul. 1992. Pensilvania is located on a slope derived from metamorphic rock of the Cajamarca Group (quartz-sericitic, schists, quartzite and biotitic quartzite), overlayed by the sedimentary deposist of the Explanada (sand, conglomerates, mud and debris), by pyroclastic deposits fall (lapilli, sand, and ash)and alluvial deposits. The methodology consisted in the preparation of temathic maps (morphometric, surface formations, erosion processes and land use at 1:2.000 scale. The area is characterized by slopes steeper than 20 affected by an advanced prcess of natural erosion, accelerated by anthopic activity (deforestation and poor soil use)and by the lack of water distribution and of sewage systems in the suburban area. The following erosive processes were observed: a general phenomenon of creep, rotational and translational slides, river bed and margin excavation and gullying. Besides the location of the most adequate areas for urban expansion, recommendations are made for each one of the phenomena that threat the population (AU). / PENSILVANIA / CALDAS
