Resumen: | Medellín, Antioquia: Universidad EAFIT,1991. Environmental geology may be considered as an applied branch of geology which includes engineering geology and whose aims are, amo others, to reduce the impact of human activities on natural environments. This impact has usually complex consequences, which may arise after very different time spnas. Environmental geology has also the objetive to identify and evaluate hazards and risks of geological origin and to propose measures which could permit their reduction or mitigation. The importance of this discipline in a country as Colombia is directly proportional to the amount of disasters which have devastated it during the last decades(AU). |
